AfriTrade Consulting Group was contracted by Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (Arise IIP), a prominent pan-African developer of integrated industrial zones, to provide specialized regulatory and operational advisory services to its multiple investor companies operating in Kenya’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs), including Vipingo SEZ, Rivatex SEZ, Naivasha II SEZ, and Dongo Kundu SEZ.

The assignment involves providing in-depth guidance on the complex SEZ regulatory landscape, including licensing procedures, fiscal and non- fiscal incentives, customs regimes, and ongoing compliance obligations. Through tailored advisory support, we have assisted Arise IIP, its Kenya subsidiaries, and investors in its industrial parks in obtaining licenses from the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), undertaking pre-feasibility, feasibility and ESIA studies, interpreting relevant legislation, including the SEZ Act and associated regulations, obtaining licenses and permits from different government agencies, and addressing tax, labor, environmental, and land-use requirements.

This hands-on assistance facilitated smoother zone entry, mitigated regulatory risks, and optimized incentive use to promote export-oriented manufacturing and value-added processing, aligning with Kenya’s industrialization and export diversification goals.

This project further reinforced our technical expertise in Special Economic Zone frameworks, industrial investment facilitation, and effective public- private partnerships across Africa. It underscored our capacity to deliver practical, results-oriented support that strengthens the attractiveness and operational performance of industrial platforms, positioning us as a preferred advisor for investors and developers seeking to capitalize on Kenya’s SEZ regime and similar initiatives across the continent.
